I sure hope it's over soon too! I forgot to tell you that the vet said once again that this gland will probably never function properly from now on because of scar tissue, so more than likely we'll be going in to get them expressed every 6-8 weeks forever! So I guess it will never really be "over", but I can certainly handle that much easier than what she's going through now!
Jen, even if hell were to freeze over and Holly agree to wear panties, there's not supposed to be anything covering the hole. It needs the air to heal, plus you can't have anything that will rub on the area because we were even warned to be careful not to move the skin around when we apply the medicine. She said that would keep the hole open. It's just a big pain in the butt, literally ;D

Oh my gosh! That sucks she's had so much trouble healing It sounds like she's finally on the mend now though.

Tricia I know it's been awhile, but how is Holly doing?

Thanks for asking! She's actually doing well so far. We've been going back to have her glands checked and cleaned first, on a weekly basis, then every tow weeks, and now we're a couple weeks into our 4 week check-up. She'll go back in the week before Christmas. If they're still emptying ok on their own, then I'm assuming it will be probably 6 weeks til we have to go again, and that will probably be the schedule from now on. So far, so good. She does have some scar tissue in the one gland, but it seems to have been emptying on its own anyway. So we just keep our fingers crossed around her

Holly had her 4-week anal gland check-up yesterday and it went great! We now get to wait 6 weeks before her next visit. Thanks again for all your care and concern - it means a lot
