I think when they eat grass they're trying to throw up. Do you know if he could have eaten anything poisonous maybe a house plant or something?
I'm surprised your vet isn't able to give you some idea of what could be wrong. Dogs don't decide to act this way out of the blue something must be causing him to behave the way he is.

As I posted on the other forum, I had a dog with black poo once and she had an ulcer - which is not something that would show up on a blood test. I think you mentioned you saw someone who wasn't your normal vet last time -- I would go see the regular vet. If they're in the same office and you explain that he's still not right, hopefully you won't have to pay for another exam and just maybe pay for meds. I agree with Jen - the vet you saw wasn't near thorough enough.

We are very broke too so I know what a burden vet bills can be, but if worse came to worse I would have to humble myself and borrow the money from my sister and take them in if they had those symptoms. I had to take Ernie in recently and it was a terrible hardship. We've had to go to the food pantry for groceries, and yes, even put them on a dogfood that most of you wouldn't buy, so I do know what broke is. But I've come to the realization that if I can't get the kids vetted, I have to rehome them with someone who can, and I really don't want to do that. Please take the to the vet.

I hope he is too, but if he continues to act off, please take the little mite in. :-)
And I didn't mean to wax self righteous about our situation, at all. Just possibly give you a little different perspective. My babies are sending *booty sniffs* to yours! Hugs.

Your vet might also be open to letting you set up some kind of a payment plan rather than all at once if you do need to bring him back I hope he is on the mend
