anyone have any good nail cutting tips? teddy is not a problem at all he lays down and as long as he can eat the nail tips i cut off he's very relaxed but woody is real squirmy and doesn't like it at all. i recently tried brenda's trick of putting his jacket on and it did help a little

ok.....I am mom....so I can tell you with ALL my animals I have been able to trim nails ALL, the pom the cats even years ago 130 pounf shep. BUT since Rocky (minpin), Mabelline (chi) all heck breaks lose! I use to just say nail day there is a pet supply/groomer down the street pay $4 and get Mabellines done......Rocky on the other hand...is Satans dog...no joke...his nails...well they grew...sigh UNTIL I said you are only 11 pounds....I CAN DO THIS! I got the "man" of the house to hold rocky AND we did it ontop (stood Rocky) on the dryer (slippery) and he knew we meant biz. I also had quick stop at hand just in case....we had alittle WWE but he gave up and clip clip got er done! Yeah! Now ONCE I knew I had him I brought out the clippers out let them sniff keep on the floor so they can paw them, made them noooooo big deal and I would pick them up and not clip their nails just touch their nails over and over and WOW now....not the WWE in my house hehehe

;D WWE
you know woody has odd nails some of them curl quickly and are very close to his pads. recently i've had to use an emery board to file them so they aren't touching the pads.

Both my dogs are pretty good - patrick is abit squirmy but nothing bad. I just always play with their feet and toes so it is a normal thing for them

Chopper has finally gotten a little better, I hold him, DH does the cutting. This last time he was rather still, I was extremely suprised....hopefully I have not just jinxed it *sigh*
