I have a question about your dog's poo ;D Do they always have totally formed, totally hard poo? I've been dealing with Holly's changing poo for a while now, and I'm wondering if it's normal. Firstly, she goes 2 times a day. Her first time is right after she eats her breakfast, and that one is always hard and the same color throughout. Her second poo is generally early evening, and it usually consists of 2 pieces - the first is hard and normal dark brown, and the second piece is light brown and not nearly as hard, although still usually formed. She's totally fine, and I would definitely not call any of what she's having diarrhea, but when she was a puppy, it was always exactly the same. Right now she's not getting any treats at all except maybe the occasional piece of bread crust (and some yogurt) because I'm trying to see if I can isolate something that may be causing this. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I have a poo issue too. Teddy's recheck for giardia came back clear and his poop was okay the few days after, formed but kind of soft. Last night and today he did some more of that gelatinous stuff. I think what might have happened is I switched back to his regular food too quickly after he had been eating chopped meat and rice for almost two weeks. I'm going to be giving him his plain Chicken Soup hard food and 2 Mother Hubbard treats each day and that's it until Monday to see if there's any change They both usually do a poop in the morning and one in the middle of the night. I know I had been feeding them too much because occasionally they each did a third poop. I have since cut back on their food for the day. Woody sometimes does poops that are old and cracked looking but hard. Teddy is the one where it can change like Holly's. They both usually do two pieces. Teddy gets upset if I leave and can be a little stressed about things at times. If Holly is the same way maybe that can be a factor that causes their poops to be irregular

How was Holly's poop today? Teddy had a normal firm poop this morning. This was after only feeding him his plain hard food and Mother Hubbard treat. I took out the apple pieces, and chopped meat I'd been giving him. I'm going to continue this until Monday and then introduce the apple or back. I'm not giving him chopped meat anymore.

It was morning poo, so it was nice and firm. It's the evening poo that I always worry about being too soft

Thanks for the "good poop wishes" Yeah, I might take away the yogurt tonight, although then I bet she won't eat her food ;D

I didn't think Teddy would eat his hard food without the chop meat, I'd been putting that on his dinner even before he showed signs of the giardia, but he did so maybe Holly will

Tysons poop sometimes gets a little soft and sometimes has like a jelly coating ewwww but then it will go back to normal he poops a lot like 3 times a day !! ;D I was hoping to firm his poop up a little as after his anal gland episode I didn't want him suffering again, anyone have any ideas how to firm it? He is on royal canin mini adult which seems to suit him quite well would like to give him something extra with it to help the poop firm.

On another forum I'm on some have said carrots gave their dogs the jello poop so I'm going to be removing them from their diet.
Teddy had another firm poop just from eating dry food and 1 treat. The two of them also just did the one poop at 6am which I'm very happy about. They used to do two sometimes three a day.
How was Holly's evening poop?
