The brushing just isn't cutting it anymore. I found a Petsmart near me that carries PetzLife gel so I'm going to get some tomorrow

That would be cool - then we can do the whole before and after thing Did you get the original flavor (peppermint) or the salmon? I've never tried the salmon, and she likes the peppermint, so I won't switch.

I went with peppermint. The pictures are a bit blurry but you can see the dark areas on their teeth. I'll post them tomorrow. I was surprised that Woody's canines were worse looking than Teddy's since he's always chewing Nylabones

Well so far so good It's too early to see any results yet but the good thing is neither seem to mind the gel.

Hooray! I just came on here to ask if they were okay with the gel, so I'm glad to hear they don't mind it

Tricia did you just apply it to the back of Holly's mouth/teeth or did you try to rub it around her entire mouth? Petsmart's website didn't give detailed instructions on applying it.

I squeeze it into a measuring spoon and then with Van holding her so I have both hands free, I get some on my finger and lift her left cheek and smear the gel on her back teeth and gums on that side. Then I switch to the other side. Then I put some on her front teeth and gums. Then I do the backs again. Then she licks the rest. I really only concentrate on getting it on the top teeth and gums. I don't really think it matters how you get it in their mouth because it's supposed to mix with their saliva to get the cleaning action going. I think the important part is no drinking or eating for 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after. I do hers right before bed so she doesn't get any food or water for at least 8 hours after I apply.
