Recently the two separate brands of dog treats I had been buying for my Chihuahuas started making them . I'm pretty sure the treats were changed since neither looked the same as they used too. Anyway I was looking for a homemade dog treat recipe and found this one. They're simple to make with very few ingredients. The dough is easy to work with and doesn't stick at all. And best of all my dogs just love them! So if you're looking for a quick and easy homemade dog treat recipe I highly recommend these peanut butter treats.

Just an update.
I didn't use a cookie cutter for the first couple of batches I made because all of my cutters were too large. Instead I rolled the entire amount into a rectangular shape and then used a spatula to make a grid in the dough. When done I just bent the pieces along the grid. The problem with this technique was some of the pieces in the center never really hardened and were chewy. Neither of my Chihuahuas minded them this way but they had a tendency to get some of the treat stuck in the sides of their mouths.
I recently got a very tiny heart cookie cutter that works like a charm. Now each piece comes out of the oven crispy and crunchy. So I do recommend using a cookie cutter.
