Hi, my name is Alyssa and I'm fairly new to toy breeds - I rescued a beautiful Chihuahua girl whom I've named Ellie. She was found on her death bed, collapsed in a snow bank, on Jan. 31st, 2008, in New Mexico. She was beyond emaciated and thanks to a friend, she was saved and three weeks later, when she was healthy enough to fly, she made the journey to me. She is doing fantastic - she is thought to be around 7 years old and is now 5lbs 9 oz, has had her teeth cleaned and her luxating patella repaired and is a happy, fiesty love monkey. 
I am head over heels in love!
My husband, Terry, and I are also blessed to share our life with a very large fur family ...
Sully nearly 10yo male English Springer Spaniel
Jordie 7.5yo male black Lab mix - rescued Sept. 2005
Ainsley 2yo female mystery mix - adopted May 2007
Gracie 19.5yo female Lilac Point Siamese - adopted Sept. 2006
Misty Moon 14.5yo female Blue Russian mix - adopted Sept. 2006 (Gracie and Misty Moon were surrendered to a shelter together)
Neitzche almost 13yo female brown Tabby
Max 6yo male ginger Tabby - adopted Dec. 2007
Finn 7.5 month old female Siamese mix - abandoned at 3 weeks
Duffy 7.5 month old female Tortie - abandoned at 3 weeks (the two were found in a barn at my husband's work and had obviously been abandoned by their mother, so we raised them and well, fell in love)
We also have a dozen or so freshwater fish tanks ranging from 2.5g to 180g with everything from Bettas to New World Cichlids.
I am very rescue orientated and help as much as I am able to with hopes of running my own rescue in the future.
