Jen, how did it go today? I'm so sorry both of you are going through this! Thank God he's not hurting though.

Thanks Tricia I'm just trying to stay busy so I don't have to think about his nose. The stress is overwhelming and causing me to have awful migraines. The vet agreed that a biopsy was definitely the next step. Today she took a blood sample for a blood panel which they do to make sure Woody will be okay under anesthesia. Normal procedure. I'll get those results tomorrow afternoon. He's scheduled for the biopsy next Monday on the 1st of February. They will need to stitch his nose so he will have to wear an e-collar. I feel really bad about that because he was so afraid the first time I put his harness on. But it's important he doesn't open the wound up so I don't have a choice I'm pretty much going to hold him the entire time he has to wear it so he's not afraid.

Oh no, I can hear the stress in your writing! Gosh, I feel so bad for you and Woody. And I know what you mean about the e-collar - UGH, I hate those things! Sending big hugs to you and your boy! Keep us posted!!

Good news. They got Woody's blood work results back early and they were all normal So it's a go ahead for the biopsy next Monday. His nose looks better than it did last Sunday. Most of the burned surface has sloughed off.

Thanks so much you guys it really means a lot to me Woody did great with the procedure It was very quick thank goodness so he didn't need that much anesthesia. His nose looks pretty gruesome and does have a few stitches in it The stitches are the absorbing kind but if they haven't disappeared in 7-10 days I can bring him back to have them removed. He's doing better than I expected with the e-collar. The size they had to use doesn't come totally to his nose so I don't think it's as scary as they can be to wear. I'll let you know when I get the results from the biopsy. I'm praying it shows something that can be easily treated or indeed a fungal infection

Aww, I'm so glad he came through it just fine. And how great that he's not totally uncomfortable with the e-collar! That'll sure make the next week go by more quickly for you. Gosh - it's early there! Is he home with you already?
