What a cute movie Not just for chi lovers either if you love dogs you should watch it Also there's a huge group of chis & 1 talks about how they're not teacups & that's a bad thing etc... Clearly whoever did the movie loves them like we do & was trying to clear up some myths that are out there

Wow that's great about the teacups. Funny when this movie was first announced I remember hearing how people on another forum were upset about it

Oh yes, Jen - they're still bring up the movie in threads when they talk about too many chihuahuas in the states I'm so glad you liked it! I wasn't able to get it today I'll try again for this weekend!!

Well I guess as far as the spoiled dog thing goes I could see that but it's not just chi's who are spoiled in the movie. And I personally don't see a problem with treating your dog like your kid ;D The movie has a lot of good messages in it. Maybe they were upset that people would run out & buy chis & they'll end up in shelters. I think people do that anyway some people want a little doll but once it poops on their rug they take it to the shelter

That's what they were talking about Alisha -- overbreeding and ending up in shelters. And people not leaving the breeding to "expert" breeders and ending up with chis that are not "standard".

Chis have been so pupular for a long time I'm not sure this movie will make all that worse.

Personally, I decided I wanted a chihuahua after seeing Legally Blonde, so I can't say anything about movies making people want a particular dog ;D

And every breeder on that forum is an "expert" breeder ;D Do they ever mention how many hobby breeders there are I wonder. I'd love to know where they get their facts like how many dogs of a certain breed are actually in shelters. It's SO nice not being there anymore
