Just an update. There doesn't seem to be any change after a week of oral anti-fungal medicine but my vet wasn't concerned and said it could take awhile. She said nothing has grown in the culture so far but she does usually give them 3 weeks and it's only been one. I also believe she said just because fungus doesn't show in the culture doesn't mean that's not what it is. I feel a little consumed with worry about it so I hope it improves soon

Oh Jen, it is very frustrating when they act off, or have something going on that the vet can't give a definitive answer about. Get well soon Buddy.

Here's an update on Woody's nose. It's finally showing signs of healing I've added new photos to the first post. I know there's a lot of pictures but it's convenient for me to have them all in one place where I can easily scroll through them In addition to the oral anti fungal Woody was also prescribed an over the counter athlete's foot creme. I decided to go with Tinactin. The problem with the creme is it's to be used externally and can be harmful if ingested. Also it needs to stay on the area for at least ten minutes for it to have any effect. The first few times I tried putting it on Woody of course he licked his nose right away. My vet said the small amount he ingested wouldn't hurt him. So for the first week of the oral anti fungal I couldn't use the creme. Then I came up with a great idea that I thought I'd share in case anyone else finds themselves in the same position as me. I took a washcloth and cut out a small hole near the edge. When I slip it over Woody's nose because the hole is near the edge it just drapes over his snout and doesn't cover his eyes. He has to have the creme put on twice a day and has been so good about the whole thing. He sits still the entire time I give him a treat as soon as the ten minutes is up which I know helps.

That is such awesome news Jen!!! I'm glad to hear it's healing up finally. I need to go back and look at the new pictures. The washcloth idea is genius!!
